Ingredients
- 1 small to medium cabbage (cut and diced)
- 1 lb ground Italian turkey sausage
- 1 medium onion (chopped)
- 1 28 oz can of diced tomatoes
- 1/2 cup uncooked rice
- 4 cups beef broth
- 1 1/2 cups V8 juice
- 2-3 tablespoons garlic (minced)
- 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
- 2 tablespoons Tomato sauce
- 1 teaspoon paprika
- 1 teaspoon thyme
- 1 teaspoon pepper
- 1 teaspoon salt
Recipe
- Place a stock pot over medium heat and brown the turkey sausage.
- Add in the onions and cook until soft.
- Now add the chopped cabbage to the pot and cook for about 2-3 minutes or until it starts to soften.
- Gently push all the ingredients to the edges to create an opening in the middle of the pot.
- Add the tomato paste to the pot and cook until it starts to darken, about 1-2 minutes.
- Add all the remaining ingredients to the pot, stir well, and allow to boil.
- Lower the temperature and cover the pot with a lid.
- Cook for 25-30 minutes or until the cabbage and rice are softened.
- Serve and enjoy.
Tips
- To make the Golumpki’s base richer, brown the sausages deeply.
- Always put the rice in at the last 20-25 minutes to ensure they saty firm.
