Benedictine Cucumber Tea Sandwich Recipe
Ingredients
- 12 slices of white bread
- 1 English Cucumber
- 1/2 small red onion
- 1/4 cup fresh dill (finely chopped)
- 12 oz of whipped cream cheese
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 2 teaspoons Worcestershire sauce
- 1 tablespoon Lemon juice
Recipe
- Wash and dry the cucumber.
- Take a small bowl and grate about 1/3 of the cucumber. Finely chop the remaining cucumber using a knife.
- Grate the onion into the same bowl as the cucumber.
- Stir the lemon juice and salt into the grated onion and cucumber. Set aside.
- Take a large bowl and add whipped cream cheese to it.
- Now, squeeze the water from the grated onion and cucumber. Be sure to squeeze out as much water as you can.
- Add the squeezed onions and cucumbers, along with the chopped dill and the Worcestershire sauce, to the bowl of cream cheese.
- Mix the ingredients using a rubber spatula until well combined and smooth.
- Cut the crusts off the bread slices, then cut each piece into 4 equal triangles.
- Spread a thin layer of the prepared cucumber sauce on each slice of bread, and layer it with sliced cucumbers.
- Top each piece with the other half.
- Serve immediately.
