Fresh Caprese Bites Recipe
Ingredients
- 1 French Baguette
- 5 Campari Tomatoes (sliced)
- 12 ounces Fresh Mozzarella Cheese
- 2 tablespoons Olive Oil
- 1/2 cup Basil leaves (cut in half)
- Balsamic Glaze
- Salt and Pepper to taste
Recipe
- Preheat the oven to medium broil and place an oven rack on the top.
- Slice the French Baguette into 20-25 half-inch thick slices.
- Brush the top of bread slices with olive oil and place them on a large baking pan.
- Place the pan in the oven and broil for 2-3 minutes until the bread starts to turn golden.
- Remove from the oven and set the oven to 400°F.
- Slice the Mozzarella cheese into 20-25 thin slices and cut the sliced tomatoes in half.
- Now, place one mozzarella slice, basil leaves, and two tomato slices on top of the bread.
- Sprinkle salt and pepper over the prepared bread slice.
- Repeat with the remaining bread slices.
- Now place them in the oven and bake for about 8-10 minutes or until the cheese is melted.
- Remove from the oven and let it cool for about 5 minutes.
- Drozzle with Balsamic glaze.
- Serve warm and enjoy.
Tips
- You can also use Roma and Plum tomatoes instead of Campari.
- Store bread, cheese leaves, and tomatoes separately in the refrigetator.
- Use fresh mozzarella cheese only.
