Cook Time: 25 mins
Total Time: 35 mins
Servings: 2
Yield: 2 pork chops
Ingredients
- ¼ cup brown sugar
- 2 teaspoons dried sage, divided
- salt and ground black pepper to taste
- 1 ½ tablespoons olive oil
- 1 teaspoon butter
- 2 (6-ounce) pork chops
- ¼ teaspoon dried rosemary
- 1 cup apple cider
- 2 teaspoons honey
- ½ teaspoon garlic powder
Directions
- Preheat your oven to 300°F (150°C).
- Mix the brown sugar, garlic powder, 1 teaspoon of sage, one teaspoon of rosemary, salt, and pepper in a bowl. Coat the pork chops in this seasoning mix.
- Heat the olive oil and butter in an oven-safe pan over medium heat until the butter becomes foamy. Brown the pork chops on both sides for about 7 to 10 minutes total. Pour in the apple cider, add the remaining sage, and drizzle the honey on top. Turn the heat to low and let it simmer for 5 minutes.
- Move the pan to the oven and bake the pork chops for 10 to 15 minutes, or until they are cooked through. The inside temperature should reach 145°F (63°C).
- Take the pan out of the oven and serve the pork chops with the sauce.
Note: If the sauce looks thin, return it to the stove and cook it a bit longer until it thickens into a glaze. For a thicker glaze, mix in about one teaspoon of cornstarch.
